1. Ensure operational excellence in the areas of import & export control and domestic trade compliance.
2. Manage commodity classification analysis, including commodity jurisdictions.
3. Compliance reviewing on Life Science products to identify relevant requirements from regulatory perspective as new product initiative and Amendment Regulations. Specified regulations for biologics, drug precursor, controlled chemicals etc.
4. Arrange timely submission for import license and permit which are dominantly as the sustained compliance for controlled products. Materials for periodical reports to Authorities are in the same timely manner.
5. Consolidate import documents for declaration and support to resolve daily inquiry from stakeholders (Custom authority, commercial team and import/export team.)
6. Collaborate with function divisions to identify opportunities for process efficiency and effectiveness in compliance through automation or process improvement, put in place compliance-related metrics and a program for continuous improvement.
7. Ensure the efficiency of daily operations agreed with KPIs and business requirement.
8. Execute and deliver Merck`s Trade Compliance Policy, best practice procedures and declaration-related law and regulation to Commercial, Product Management, Customer Excellence, Field Services, Supply Chain and Distribution as a protective means of fair transaction.
9. Support trade compliance audits of custom broker. Monitor and report on changes of relevant trade compliance environment with impact with Merck Life Science business.
